2 presets now… Longs Peak in the distance from daybreak to noon.

In the afternoon it shifts to the east…

The mountain in the center background is Tremont Mountain. The far left is Thorodin Mountain, but it is mostly blocked.

See the November 2012 post for details on high speed internet access.

Weather data for those that want all the details

Switched out the FreeBSD server for a Raspberry Pi 3 to do the data collection for the weather station. Works well at a fraction of the cost in power. The old tower used $11 a month in power and the Rpi uses under a dollar.

It would be nice to hear from all my neighbors that frequently look at the picture and weather data. Just a first name and which street you live on would be nice. And if you rather not be published just say so and I’ll not let the note out, but I’d like to hear from you anyways.

Thanks for the site. We’ve had it in our favorites for a couple years now. We have a home on Lodgepole Drive but live in Arizona most of the year. It’s nice to check the weather in Dory Lakes first thing everyday.

Would we be able to sign in to the webcam? I am a retired veteran who enjoys looking at the weather on webcams. My sons live in the area.

I don’t permit people to control the webcam (all it would take is 10 seconds directly at the sun and the CCD would be toast), but the picture updates every 30 seconds so you can see current live pictures.

My place is at S. Dory Lakes Drive – recent owner – very nice to see the area, especially today – getting an idea of the snow fall can help with knowing how the roads may be. Thank you for your time, effort and contribution to helping others with this !!!

Excited to see this webcam. My daughter and I are proud owners of a lot on Lodge Pole Drive. We plan to build a home and relocate there permanently very soon to join my son and his family who currently live in Coal Creek Canyon. This way I feel like I can keep an eye on the area from our current location in Nashville, TN. Looking forward to being a neighbor!
